Community investment: Safety

At Enbridge nothing is more important than safety—it’s at the heart of everything we do. For us, it’s about more than our operational safety, it’s also about the safety of the communities where we live and work. We’re proud to invest in local safety initiatives and the organizations that are important to communities.

When we invest with partners, we focus on areas that improve everyone’s safety including:

  • Community safety
  • Equipment needed to assist first responders and other organizations in the event of an emergency
  • Training and development for the people responsible for community safety
  • Disaster relief

Our grants have supported such community safety needs as crime prevention programs, youth safety camps, AEDs in public spaces, and safety education.

And our Safe Community program is designed specifically to support local first-response emergency services. Since it was begun in 2002, our grants have helped support everything from new firehoses, training and the purchase of jaws-of-life for fire departments to policing equipment, automated external defibrillators, vehicles and major financial support of air ambulance services.

Visit our interactive community investment map for a sampling of the donations we made in 2017 to organizations near our pipelines, facilities and distribution systems.
