Enbridge Athabasca Region Pipeline Service Update
May 05, 2016
CALGARY, Alberta, May 5, 2016 – Enbridge is working closely with the province and Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo to monitor the wildfire situation in the producing regions of Northern Alberta. Our number one priority is the safety of our people and we are taking actions to ensure their safety.
As of last evening, Wednesday, May 4, the Enbridge Cheecham facility was shut down and evacuated to provide our people with a safe exit route, and the Athabasca Terminal will be reduced to a minimum staff complement for safety reasons. As a result, all Enbridge pipelines in and out of Cheecham Terminal have been isolated and shutdown. Line 19 south of Kirby Lake continues to operate. Enbridge will not provide details on volumes or laterals, as it is private customer information.
We will continue to actively monitor the situation and will not publicly provide customer specific updates or information at any time. We will manage any potential impacts to deliveries with our customers.
Our thoughts are with the people and first responders of Ft. McMurray and the surrounding area during this difficult time.
